Although preconceived many years ago, Fuel Flex was fleshed out and born during the COVID-19 lockdown. Prior to this, the formulations were used exclusively by a select few as a competitive edge in street and track racing.
To this end, Flex Fuel has been successfully used and proven in setting records in multi-platform vehicles. The Founders of Flex Fuel are passionate about racing and have been personally competing in motorsport events for over a decade.

The Founder responsible for fuel formulations, product development and fuel services at Flex Fuel, holds a PhD degree in Catalysis (a multi-disciplinary field involving chemical engineering, chemistry and molecular modelling).
His knowledge and experiences spans over 15 years working in the Chemical industry. During this time he has authored several scientific papers and given various key note presentations both locally and internationally.
His career started at Sasol where he has worked across their R&D departments including the Sasol Fuels research group. He currently works for an International Chemicals Corporation and provides technical support and services
to the sub-Saharan chemical industry. In South Africa, his current customer base includes the Sasol, PetroSA, Natref, Engen and the Astron Energy refineries.

The second co-founding partner holds an Electronic Engineering Control systems degree and has been in the circuit and drag racing scene for last 18 years. He previously owned a successful tuning shop with multiple race wins and records behind his name. This winning passion has been pushed into focused fuel development to foster race winning, safe and reliable fuel. The combination of a tertiary engineering education and a performance workshop allowed him to gain extensive knowledge of engine dynamics under varying conditions. This has played a critical role in guiding the development of the Fuel Flex products.
